A Time of Lost Opportunities
Is the title of the annual research project's report that was sponsored by Avanko Capital and prepared by Mergers.ru. The survey covers all the main completed M&A deals that took place in Russia in 2008 and the main activities and trends in the Russian M&A market.
The report presents the following conclusions: the conditions of the world financial crisis are especially favorable for buyers as asset value tends to decrease and credit costs grow; during the next year or two, the average value of deals will inevitably decrease while at the same time analysts expect there to be activity in low and mid-market segments; the role of the state as one of the leading market participants will grow; and foreign participants that are already acquainted with Russian market conditions will seek new attractive possibilities, and gain them.
